Joju George - Shaji Kailash combo movie 'Varavu'

Malayalam actor Joju George and successful senior director Shaji Kailas are collaborating for the first time for a new mass action entertainer titled ‘Varavu’ (Raaka). The project was officially announced recently. The title poster was released with the tagline “Revenge is not a dirty business”.

The screenplay for the film is written by Shaji’s long-time collaborator, screenwriter and director AK Sajan. He has previously provided the screenplay for Shaji’s films like ‘Chintamani Kolakes’ starring Suresh Gopi, ‘Red Chillies’ starring Mohanlal and ‘Dhrona 2010’ starring Mammootty. ‘Varavu’ is being produced by Nice Reji under the banner of Olga Productions. Jomi Joseph is acting as the co-producer.

The shooting of this film will take place in major locations like Munnar, Marayur, Kanthalloor, Theni. Joju recently completed the shooting of ‘Valadu Vasatte Kallan’ with Biju Menon under the direction of Jeethu Joseph. He is currently acting in the film ‘Aasa’ opposite senior actress Urvashi.

Later this year, Joju will start his second directorial film ‘Deluxe’. It will be a sequel to the film ‘Pani’ released in 2024. This will be Joju’s first film as a director. Shaji Kailash’s last film was the horror film ‘Hunt’ released in 2024. Bhavana played the lead role in it. It remains to be seen what range of hit Joju will get with ‘Varavu’.
