'jackpot' to Siddu’s josh?
Siddu Jonnalagadda, who has carved out a special image for himself by acting in diverse roles and different genres, is now in front of the audience with the spy action comedy 'Jack'. 'Baby' fame Vaishnavi Chaitanya is the heroine in this film and it is directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Produced by senior producer BVSN Prasad, this film is generating good interest overseas from the very first shows.
In this film, director Bhaskar shifted from his usual love stories to a variety of commercial mass formula. He combined action, humor, patriotism, sentiment – all of which made ‘Jack’ a solid commercial package. The story, which runs like a spy thriller, the terrorist plot in the backdrop, and Siddu’s performance as the hero Jack, engaged the audience well.
Siddu Jonnalagadda made the audience laugh with his signature comedy timing. Especially the dialogue delivery reminiscent of Tillu's tones and humorous elements added to the entertainment value of the film. His chemistry with Vaishnavi Chaitanya also felt fresh.
Technically speaking, the music, visuals, and action elements that add glamour to the film seem to be targeted at a middle-class audience. Achu Rajamani's music suits the story. Some of the visual effects scenes could have been better.
Despite mixed reviews from overseas premieres, it will be interesting to see how the audience will respond in the Telugu states. Reviews are coming in that audiences who like mass action entertainers will like ‘Jack’ as a different spy drama.
