Another shock again to Nayantara's documentary
Netflix's documentary 'Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale' based on the life of lady superstar Nayanthara has been mired in controversy ever since its release. Actor Dhanush has already approached the court seeking Rs. 10 crore in damages over the footage of the film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan', and now another big controversy has come to the fore.
AP International, which owns the rights to the film, has filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking Rs. 5 crore in damages against Netflix and documentary producers Torque Studios, alleging that footage from the superhit film 'Chandramukhi' was used without permission.
The company said that the footage was collected from YouTube and used illegally, and that it had first sent a legal notice on the matter, and only after that the producers approached them for a license.
While Dhanush's lawsuit is already under trial, criticism of the documentary has gained momentum again with the recent 'Chandramukhi' controversy. The documentary, which discussed Nayanthara's career, personal life, and her wedding celebrations with Vignesh Shivan, has become a hot topic in Kollywood due to its controversial issues.
