Actor and director Manoj Bharathi Raja passes away suddenly

Actor and director Manoj Bharathi Raja, son of renowned Tamil director Bharathi Raja, has died of a heart attack. He reportedly breathed his last in Chennai on Tuesday, March 25. His death at the age of just 48 has left the film industry and fans in shock.

Manoj, who made his debut as a hero in 1999 with the film 'Taj Mahal', directed by his father Bharathi Raja, has acted in films like 'Alli Arjuna, Kadal Pookkal, Samudiram, Easwaran, and Viruman'.In addition to making his mark in acting, he also directed a Tamil film titled ‘Margali Thingal’ in 2023, with the ambition of becoming a director. His father Bharathi Raja was the producer of this film.

Due to his dedication to cinema, Manoj worked as an assistant director before starting his film journey as a director. He worked as an assistant director on films like Final Cut of Director. In addition, he studied Theatre Arts at the University of South Florida.Manoj married his longtime girlfriend, Tamil actress Nandana, on 19 November 2006. The couple has two daughters, Aarthika and Mathivadhani. The sudden death of Manoj Bharathi Raja is a great loss to the Tamil film industry.
